To be a big winner at online poker has become a little harder last year. The big inflow of inexperienced players has fallen off a bit and the strong winning players remains.
The tight aggressive approach that was the way to make big money earlier are not enough to make you a big winner any longer. You will still win money as a good tight aggressive player but not as much as you used to.
To continue be a big winner I have had to become more loose aggressive. This is a very hard style to play and it takes a lot of talent or/and experience.
When you play good LA poker your opponents will think you are an idiot with a lot of luck. The concept is to make lots of small plays with questionable odds but when the big money comes in you have a really good hand.
I have started to play more and more loose aggressive and it seems to work for me. I don’t think you should play this style at too low levels. At the lower limits like NL $1/$2 and smaller LA play don’t work. Its better to play tight aggressive there. Reason for this is that there is to many loose passive players at the lower levels who will call your raises on almost anything.
To make money on LA play you have to be able to pick up lots of small pots on your big raises, with your questionable hands. And win some really big pots when you are called but hits good.
I you want to become a really good poker player I believe this is the style you should learn to master.
